I don’t really care one way or another about lying because I get sick and tired of being asked about American politics by cabbies, barkeeps, random people I meet. Eventually the conversation always turns to politics and the fun of discussing it with people from other countries has long since passed.

and I would like to go visit them next year.. but like you I have absolutely no desire to try and explain to anyone how these people got in office or became so embroiled in politics..
