Special Counsel Jack Smith Resigns From Justice Dept.

effective yesterday. Just saw on CNN. The 3 day hold on the report by Aileen Cannon is set to expire tomorrow. CNN is wondering how his resignation will affect that.

2. Possible that that's why he resigned?

The report is in the hands of Garland and will be released to a few people on Congressional committees. Smith might want to be in a safe place as the report is released, or as parts of it are leaked. Even before the fascist regime is in power to arrest him, there will be no shortage of death threats and probably some attempts on his life.

There are Democrats on the committees who will receive the report. Jamie Raskin is ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, for example.

It's not a turnover to Rs.

Charges, his report will at least support those charges, and offers something new.
