Fox News shows fire miracle - home destroyed but stone Virgin Mary statue remains in yard

Also the “miracle” here is… God let your family’s home be razed to the ground, but saved the statues?

Fox News viewers learning that statues are not flammable or combustible?

Nope.

It's like someone sprayed it with fireplace brick cleaner before they shot the video.
That said, if there was enough oxygen being pulled in by the firestorm, the combustion could, theoretically, be complete enough to be very close to soot free.
But, that wouldn't be a miracle. It would be simple chemistry.
Either way, their take is ridiculous.

The Roman's saw the female goddess staues and painted over the name with 'Virgin Mary'. This happened with a lot of pagan gods. They just got renamed to saints.

This happened to St Nicholas (i.e. Santa Claus). He was a pagan shaman who would slide into people's homes in the winter with a load of magic mushrooms to be dried over the fireplace.

... there's a weird, smudgey and slightly angled division between the wreckage of the house and the yard. But that's almost immaterial; the real story is the staggering stupidity of the Pox News premise. What's even worse is how many people actually believe this shit.

My faith says "Of course it didn't burn it is stone". If the statue burn and the home didn't that would be a miracle.

However if it gives them solace at the loss of their house, I am willing to let them have it. It harms no one.

and I will not judge them for something innocuous like this that gives them solace. I especially won’t call them stupid — this impulse seems to extend beyond the religious to agnostics and atheists. I suspect it’s a universal impulse to search for something to hold on to.
