DOJ Drops FINAL WARNING to MAGA Congress

'The final letter from AG Merrick Garland to House and Senate ranking members of the judiciary committees has now been made public, confirming that at NO time did Garland ever veto Jack Smith or find that any aspect of his investigation lacked merit. Popok explains that while Vol 1 of the Special Counsel report will be made public in next 48 hours, Vol 2 on Mar a Lago may never see the light of day while Trump is in office.'

If they’re not releasing it because of the case against the 2 Trump employees who helped hide the documents from the FBI, that seems like a wasted effort as Trump’s new AG will just drop those charges anyway.

Please help this non-lawyer understand.

Not to mention footnotes, reconciliation and cross-referencing between the two volumes, and re-indexing.
VI was finished, VII will probably take a bit longer.

..... problem solved. They can't / won't be charged in the future. Without the problem of their potential jeopardy in the future, there is NO REASON to keep Part 2 out of public hands.

Make them both public BEFORE Donnie, "convicted felon," gets sworn in. We need to know WHY he held the CLASSIFIED documents. My guess is that he sold them off to the highest bidder.

WHY Not? legal DUer!

The case around the classified documents is the more serious of the two. He could easily release it, if necessary dropping the charges against Trumps two stooges who are defendants. The charges will be dropped by Trumps new AG anyway, so why not.

By releasing only the J6 report he deflects from not releasing the more serious of the two. It’s what Trump has been doing all along. Deny, deflect, disparage.

Garland is in the bag for Trump. It’s as simple as that.

Garlands cover is ostensibly protecting the rights of Trumps two stooges who are defendants in the Mar a Lago documents case. Drop the charges and they are no longer in jeopardy. Trump is going to drop the charges for sure. Whatever evidence is in the report can’t hurt them if they are no longer charged.

rolling around in his grave.

He wrote The Hollow Men in 1925 in the aftermath of the First World War, an era not at all very different from today. Great social and economic upheaval, coinciding with the rise of fascism and racial hate.

Our institutional memory along with our constitution are but palimpsests.

Eliot is well worth a reread.

... I saw someone here suggest the perfect solution to the volume 2 dilemma: Biden should simply pardon the two peripheral – and really, insignificant – defendants, thereby vaporizing any legal obstacle to releasing the report on Trump's treason.

There may be dozens of bullshit excuses to not do it, but no valid reason not to.

Ball's in your court, Joe. Do the right thing; take this motherfucker DOWN! You forfeited your incumbency for the good of the nation, and it didn't make a piss hole in the snow's worth of difference. This really will be for the good of the nation. Hell, for the very survival of the nation! And remember that, thanks to the grotesquely corrupt majority on the Supreme Court, THEY. CAN'T. TOUCH. YOU! May all six of 'em roast in Hell for the rest of eternity.

Trump is going to if Garland doesn’t so why not?

We may end up in the absurd situation where the two men who could have made it possible for the citizens who paid for the investigations to see the reports and know the facts point at each other and say, ‘you should have released the reports.” “No you should have.” And we remain in the dark.

No you!

dismiss the charges in order to release the report. He'll never do it.

The only chance of the report being released is if Biden pardons the two codefendants.

I've written the same thing to President Biden.

I have the highest regard for Our President (I'm indulging myself by using that title before I retire it from my vocabulary). The changes he was willing to make for the good of our nation must have strained his institutionalist soul, but he did it. I can't imagine if him and/or Kamala had won, what they had in store for us in the 2nd term!

(Hey, I need to dream!)

Protect women's health rights, pass the John R. Lewis voting rights act and the ERA, overturn presidential immunity, win in Ukraine, protect Taiwan, outlaw all gerrymandering and voter suppression, overturn Citizens United, pass strong anti-monopoly laws, go all in on reversing our climate crisis, follow Australia's example on gun laws, tax the rich at the same rate as wage earners, free college and shift to Single Payer.
That is just for starters.

The Cherry on top is this,
one day the felonator goes up in a poof of smoke. Then we deport or jail Elon, Bannon, Murdock, Koch, Alex Jones, Vance, etc.

It's important we don't lose our dreams.

1) a federal judge ordered it (Cannon)
and
2) there are 2 defendants that are waiting to be tried.
Although, in all probability Diaper Don will pardon them. They're still defendants and the Justice Department is obligated to proceed as such. I don't like it either, but unless they drop the charges they have to uphold the law, including legal orders we don't agree with.
I'm not a lawyer but it's just my understanding the JD's position. Do you really think Garland is going to go rogue at this point. President Biden on the other hand, has nothing to lose. Except his long standing belief in the institutions and the laws, policies and rules that govern them.
