David C. Weiss, the special counsel who spent years investigating Hunter Biden, criticized President Biden for making baseless accusations about his inquiry that threatened the integrity of the justice system as a whole in a final report made public on Monday.
The presidents characterizations are incorrect based on the facts in this case, and on a more fundamental level, they are wrong, Mr. Weiss wrote.
His inquiry had been a subject of fierce debate until the president issued a broad pardon that ended the case against his son, saying that the prosecution was the result of raw politics.
The report, at some 27 pages, acted as a pointed rejoinder to the president. Citing judicial rulings that found that the case had been fairly brought, Mr. Weiss used his final words on the long-running investigation to decry President Bidens characterizations.

Good riddance to Weiss.

(35,664 posts)No one but Hunter Biden has ever been charged SOLELY with lying on ATF Form 4473 Question F.
Why only Hunter Biden? MILLIONS of Americans lie on that question EVERY YEAR.

(7,431 posts)They tried relentlessly to find some way to hurt Biden. This is all they have.
As the clock ticks down to the loss of our democracy, the more they squawk, the less I care about Hunter's laptop, etc. Who cares about it. I am very, very glad that the true Pres had the guts to pardon him. Years and years of absolute crap heaped on them both.
We need to somehow turn our attention to the Midterms now. I go through long blocks of depression where I just don't give a political fig about nuthin, only to get a surge of energy with a resistence attitude. I am fighting off the hate I feel, plan to look neither to my right or left, but straight ahead. I plan to somehow help to feed people. My hero is Chef Andres, a man fighting for food equity. I don't really have heroes left in my life, but he comes darned close.
I am stuck in a dichotomy of conflicted attitude. One part of me prays every single day for someone I love to survive a wicked disease. The other part of me presents wishes that a certain dyed blonde asshole drops dead in his tracks. And, then I am ashamed, because you can't pray for life on one hand, and at the same time, pray for someone to die. I don't think it works like that. And, then I'm angry all over again for having to deal with this.
So, Hunter Biden is the least of our worries, and I don't feel that Biden has endangered any part of our democracy. I am proud of his service, and those that are turned against him now will fail, later. We have bypassed several really fine leaders who could have truly benefitted all the people. If Kamala runs again, I will vote for her.
