(44,394 posts)They are so hypersensitive about everything. Maybe the Academy use the word parent on a form? I dont know what theyre complaint is. Im sure it has nothing to do with military readiness.

(61,359 posts)refer to "parent or caregiver" instead of "mom and dad" - which of course seemed like the end of civilization to RWers.

(15,302 posts)Parent or Caregiver is more than appropriate. It's Parental Leave or Benefits, not "Mommy and Daddy" Leave or Benefits.
Caregiver refers to any familial or spousal caregiving, to just a parent giving care to a child.
"Mom and Dad" is a casual and somewhat infantile term used when telling recruits to remember to spit-shine their shoes for Graduation Ceremony.
First week in Boot Camp I still remember hearing the DI yell "Ladies, Y'all finish writing those letters to Mom, Dad and your Boyfriends before Lights Out..."
Infantalizing the troops.

(12,183 posts)After all, they are "woke" and all.
Musk is wanting to change Wikipedia.
For all we know, they want to change the spelling of words
so the unwoke can look words up in Musk Dictionaries?
