Also GOP: He will shatter into tiny pieces should Dems get another five minutes to ask questions.
The above quote from Eric Columbus on BlueSky a few minutes ago.
Just about sums it up. The way I'm following this is by recording the hearings and watching on delay, forwarding through the R kiss ups and Hegseth's gish galloping. I would like to applaud the Dems for excellent questioning and going at him as strongly as possible. No Monday morning quarterbacking here.
Tammy Duckworth and Tim Kaine were especially effective, but Elizabeth Warren also stood out. I think Hegseth was warned not to treat Duckworth too dismissively considering her status as a wounded warrior, but he could not answer simple questions from any of them.
But I still get the feeling that the R's are all going to vote for him.

(71 posts)When I was in the military, I think the max for the PT test was around 82 in 2 min (it's been over 40 years so don't fully remember). I think it's a little over 70 for younger people now, and 50 for older people.
My last year, and for about 17 years after (until a major accident), I did 5 sets of 50 (250) 4 days a week every morning.
In addition, I did sets of free squats for a total of 200 those same mornings.
If he was close to max on his PT test (seems like he probably was) this routine isn't that abnormal.
