Sorry, but trashing a single religion for the purpose of somehow "explaining" the dumb decisions of a dumb (Presbyterian) president, is not just offensive, it's lame.
it does, in addition, suggest you know nothing of the other religions, i.e., Mormonism, Orthodox Judaism, that discourage the use of birth control.

on that object counter to that object’s motion. Issac Newton’s 1st law already covered this subject.

They can generally change direction faster than most larger aircraft. But going from forward to stop is not like in a car. The only traction is from air. I don't know the scale of the maps showing the combined routes of both craft but it would seem to me that the chopper pilot should have seen the passenger plane with plenty of time to take some kind of corrective action.

because airline pilots over 40 have to get a medical exam every 6 months (if younger, every year) to get their first-class medical certificate. The requirements for a sign-off are fairly stringent, and most heart conditions are disqualifying. A pilot could have an undiagnosed heart condition that causes sudden incapacitation but it's extremely rare.

The area where we live, although reasonably densely populated, (700k in the county) is notoriously bad for GPS.
When our company had visitors come to our big Chicago area manufacturing site, we would send an email with a map, directions and in bold underlined text "Do not rely on GPS".
Some ignored that and got so far off base, I would leave to go to a truck stop, the talk them in over the phone, until they got to where I was. Then they'd follow me back. Some of these folks ended up 8 miles to far south & east!
We contacted Garmin, Google, MapQuest & others but they did nothing.
Even nearer our house, there is an exit that only matters after a turn to the east. The other direction goes nowhere except a dead end.
The county put up a 4' by 3' sign saying "Ignore your GPS! This way leads to nothing."
On that first piece, I once had an ISO auditor get dropped off in the middle of nowhere by an Uber driver who got frustrated that he kept going in circles. On the phone, I told him to listen to my instructions nit the GPS, but he wouldn't.
I guessed reasonably well, and tracked her down about a mile from an industrial park with her briefcase & luggage on the ground next to her!

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/08/us/politics/trump-helicopter-willie-brown.html

Remember this nonsense? Lol

Former President Donald J. Trump told a jaw-dropping story on Thursday about nearly dying in a helicopter ride with Willie Brown, the former California politician and ex-boyfriend of his rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.

There was only one problem with the story. Or maybe two. Or maybe three.

It wasn’t the famous former San Francisco mayor on the helicopter flight at all. It was Gov. Jerry Brown of California, who bears little resemblance to Willie Brown.

There was also no emergency landing, and the helicopter’s passengers were never in any danger at all, according to Gov. Gavin Newsom, who was also on the flight.

An object in motion doesn't tend to remain in motion if it's a helicopter, right? Does he only ever watch cartoons when he's not watching Fox? Does he think a helicopter moves like when Wile E. Coyote runs off a cliff and then stops suddenly and falls straight down?

It is their end goal.

We have never been in more danger than we are right now, Trump's attempts to distract with his buffoonery are not in the least amusing to me.

The Huey we were in took an RPG to the tail boom.

We were in gyro on the way down, things happened fast. When we hit, I bounced out of the door and the rotors bent downward, nearly taking my head off. The main roto spun for, I'd say, 30 seconds but shit was happening so fast I can't be sure.

We all survived. But the respect I have for gravity increased exponentially.

If, as been alluded to, the use of Night Vision Devices (which I am sure have improved) would make light pollution from a major city something of a nightmare. Not only is your peripheral vision non-existent, but you become blind. Think of the idiot who shines a flashlight in your face on a dark night, your night vision is shot for twenty minutes.

As for T****, shut up, let the pro's do their job, and feel some remorse and empathy, then shut the fuck up.

People died in a terrible accident, have some respect.

93. It was the context he said it in
Thu Jan 30, 2025, 10:59 PM
Thursday

Trump didn't seem to understand why the helicopter couldn't get out of the way. He was talking as if the pilot saw the jet, had plenty of time to maneuver, and instead thought something along the lines of, "Gee, there's a plane, well, I guess I could stop, or go up or down or left or right...duh, guess I'll just crash into it."

He seemed utterly confused about this, talking as if there was no way the pilot couldn't have seen the jet coming, as if they practically crashed into the jet on purpose. That's why he was saying, "You can stop a helicopter very quickly. They can go up or down." He wasn't trying to make some kind of smart comment about helicopters. He was just trying to sound authoritative about something he only has a vague concept of, as usual. Like, if he was flying the helicopter, he would have gotten out of the way.

Anyway, apologies if it was not clear from the OP -- I posted this as I was watching his press conference, so the context was apparent in the moment.

(I will add that even if the pilot had seen the jet at the last second, the Black Hawk was probably doing at least 150mph. You obviously can't just stop on a dime at that speed. And a Black Hawk isn't a small helicopter like the one in the video.)
