Trump blaming diversity for an aircraft collision isn't 'common sense' as he says, it's racist

...since his common sense led him to insinuate that, essentially, someone who isn't a white male is responsible for the aircraft crash, before the investigation has even begun.

The outrage of the President of the United States reverting to a Jim Crow characterization of Americans in his initial take on a tragic and deadly incident he knows absolutely nothing substantive about should be enough to regard him as a reflexive white supremacist.

Contrary to Trump's narrow, ignorant portrayals of diversity, it is the essential engine of our nation's progress. It is not only a recognition of the broad bench of talent and expertise to be found in America from all races - from disabled Americans, LGBTQ, non-English speaking, transgender - but an effort to advantage that individual excellence to its greatest potential.

What Trump is touting is a return to a world that doesn't exist anymore, where there weren't hundreds of thousands of individuals from segments of the country which were not recognized or advantaged by government and businesses in the too recent past.

The nation's military branches recognized this from the time they begun to expand export the nation's defenses, and black Americans, women, and other previously underrepresented individuals were actively sought after to bolster and enhance the fighting forces.

It's also why most businesses aren't abandoning their diversity outreach and retention programs, because, they intend to remain competitive in this century and the next.

Trump is still celebrating a regressive past in his addled head, and he expects the nation to just revert back into a society which didn't welcome them, and didn't provide opportunity for many of them.

It's a recipe for national economic failure, and social stagnation which might have flown under the radar. But this clown is out here just waving his baboon ass at everyone, and most Americans should be absolutely revolted at just how low the nation has sunk to be represented by this racist huckster.

"Are you saying this crash was somehow caused and the result of diversity hiring? And what evidence have you seen to support these claims?" a reporter asked Trump during a press briefing.

"It just could have been," said Trump, offering no evidence. "We have a high standard. We've had a much higher standard than anybody else and there are things where you have to go by brain power."

The implication here is that diverse hires are somehow lacking in brain power — an assertion that is certain to please Trump's racist base.

"You have to go by psychological quality and psychological quality is a very important element of it," he continued. "These are various very powerful tests that we put to use and they were terminated by Biden and Biden went by a standard that's the exact opposite."

Trump asserted that the Federal Aviation Administration changed its standards under former President Joe Biden and was “actively recruiting workers who suffer severe intellectual disabilities and psychiatric problems and other mental and physical conditions under diversity and inclusion hiring initiatives.”

and he said what he's relying on "is just common sense." Also JD Vance blamed the crash on lawsuits against the FAA seeking to hire people with darker skin. Truly Nazi like.

Of all the other countries. Without our diverse population, we would be nothing, just a bunch of white supremacist.

Ron Filipkowski @RonFilipkowski
The President of the US stood at a podium today and said that he has no proof that an air traffic traffic controller who was a “diversity hire” caused this, but of course he’s pretty sure that’s what it had to be because a white guy wouldn’t make this kind of a mistake.

Project 2025 is about eugenics and the marginalization and erasure of all persons considered unfit. This includes white people with disabilities.

Literally nothing they have done in the last 15 years would ever equate to "common sense". This shit is the exact opposite of common sense - it is sheer lunacy at the hands of a man who's gone mad with power.

doesn't it follow that most airline crashes can be blamed on men?

The worst airline disaster in history (Tenerife, late 1970's) had white men as pilots (one was Dutch and he was very senior and in charge of pilot training at KLM. The other was American).

There has been no rise in airline crashes since women and non-white people have been allowed to be pilots or air traffic controllers. In fact, despite yesterday's crash, it's safer than it has ever been, and despite the huge increase in flights.

Data shows that there are now only 72,428 women pilots, which accounts for 9.57% of the total. The numbers become significantly less if you discount the pilots that only hold student licenses – (6.34% of non-student pilots are women)

The crash rate for male pilots, as for motor vehicle drivers, exceeds that of crashes of female pilots," explains Susan P. Baker, MPH, professor of health policy and management at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
