that enables you to turn the TV "off". Or your cell phone. "Off" is a novel concept, but extremely effective.

For one thing, about 90% of the news is repeated, endlessly, during the news cycle. You simply don't learn anything new. So, go watch a documentary. Go to a movie, out with friends. Read a book. Too many people never read a book.
