Governments require a combination of trust and fear to operate effectively. To have both, you have to have competence. At this point, there is no trust nor competence. People who likely have clearances and knowledge that certain countries would gladly pay for. Hopefully, the integrity of those fired will keep that info from getting sold...unlike those boxes at maralardo.

The OPM initially indicated that 2,200 probationary employees in IHS would be laid off, including nearly 100 doctors, 350 nurses, nursing assistants, pharmacists and others. IHS formally asked for an exemption for all healthcare workers.

In response, Trump administration officials notified health officials that doctors, nurses and other critical care workers would be exempt, but that 950 employees would still be laid off, sources said.

People tend to take government jobs for the stability, not the high pay. But if you remove the stability from the job and every new administration brings stress, hardship, and uncertainty - would you apply for those jobs with that in mind?
