I am so angry! I am a member of a fitness center ran by a local Indian tribe in NE Washington state.

Ever since I began going there over six years ago, there has been a poster in the women’s dressing room about violence against indigenous women and resources for them if they need help. That poster was removed by the center at some point within the past week. I am positive it is because they were forced to because of the DEI bans because they receive federal funding. I am not indigenous but am enraged that endangered women of any race or creed cannot have access to information to protect themselves. This administration is evil incarnate! 🤬😭

Assuming can be problematic. If you know any of the management you could express your concern for its absence and let them know you support their efforts. They might open up..

I honestly don’t think it was taken down by a member. I am going to send an email and enquire.

The Justice Department has removed a report from its website that lays out recommendations for tackling the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women.

The Not Invisible Act Commission's final report, which was mandated by bipartisan legislation with the same title, was the product of a joint effort between the Justice Department and the Interior Department to combat the disproportionate rates of violent crime, human trafficking and cases of Indigenous people going missing or being murdered.

For all the work of this commission, which the Senate unanimously voted to create in March 2020, there is now a dead link on the Justice Department’s website where its report used to be. Trump signed this bill into law in his first term in office.

The Justice Department did not respond to requests for comment on why this report no longer exists on its website, and if it is related to Trump’s efforts to eliminate any programs or language it considers to be related to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

poster was removed. The general consensus was that it is being updated and that it would not have been removed to comply with anti-DEI regulations. But I expressed my concern for it being removed which helps me to not be so frustrated and hopefully brought attention to its removal in case it was a troll. I will keep an eye out to see if something similar ever returns.

9. This administration's rules ban key words like: woman, indigenous, Indian, native, etc.

so they could easily put the phone number on a new poster without those key words, but include a photo of an indigenous woman or something like that. It sounds stupid because it is. But compliance is one way to make sure women can still learn about the resources available.

Unless the resources were also federally funded, and Musk decided it was fraud waste and abuse.
