The Last Billionaires - Why we need a bunch of new Democratic leaders to take overlike right now

The system that got us here can not get us out.
Sometimes, no matter how deeply you feel something, words fail.
In the closing minutes of the latest episode of Next Comes What above, Andrea Pitzer offers an explanation Ive been in desperate need of. She nails why many Democratstwo-thirds in a recent CNN pollhave been so disappointed or mystified by Democratic members of Congress. To me, many reps seem stunned by what feels like a blitzkrieg attack on our government and Constitution by Donald Trump enabled by Elon Musk.

One of the key reasons that legislators are unable or unwilling to do as much as people would like is that the same system that elected Donald Trump elected them.
Just as legacy newspapers are bound to the current US political and economic systems in ways that make it difficult for them to report in unusual times, current elected legislators are, by and large, bound to the current models of politics in ways that make it difficult for them to work against the current administration.

(3,499 posts)2. I have realized this for a long time. Our new leaders cannot be elected because there's a D next to their
name. They should only be elected if they realize that capitalism is not the way forward, that rights such as clean water, air, etc., should not be privatized, and that every citizen deserves financial dignity.
The Oligarchs have had it their way for over 250 years. It's time to share the fruits of all of our labors.

(5,853 posts)3. Funny how when Obama was first elected,
ALL the Republicans knew how to NEVER vote for anything proposed by the Dems, and obstructed every procedural move they could, but according to this article/video, the Dems have NO CLUE how to do the same to Trump.
