that an actor has to have empathy, because an actor has to be able to understand someone from the inside, their childhood experiences, their beliefs, their motivations, in order to portray another human being effectively and believably... and it all just grew organically from there. It was a long speech and no one tried to rush her. The attention of that audience was completely hers. She was one of their elders, and they listened. The love in that room reached right out of the screen and touched me.

They're still mad about what she said 55 years ago, while they worship a draft-dodging coward who shits on military families and veterans and service personnel every chance he gets.

And I love her. Always have. I was in tears by the time she was done! (And she took her well-deserved time getting there!)

I am still pushing back against the subscription model. Boo to SAG for choosing that platform.

MAGA cultists have no idea what "woke" really means, any more than they know what critical race theory or DEI stands for. Like Fonda, i'll always say, "If 'woke' means 'giving a damn' about others, then I am prod to call myself 'woke'!"

She then asked the crowd: “Have any of you ever watched a documentary of one of the great social movements — apartheid or civil rights or Stonewall — and ask yourself, would you have been brave enough to walk the bridge? We don’t have to wonder anymore. We are in our documentary moment. This is it, and it’s not a rehearsal!”

I don't think it was planned or rehearsed. It was straight from her heart to the audience, and to all of us.
