that an actor has to have empathy, because an actor has to be able to understand someone from the inside, their childhood experiences, their beliefs, their motivations, in order to portray another human being effectively and believably... and it all just grew organically from there. It was a long speech and no one tried to rush her. The attention of that audience was completely hers. She was one of their elders, and they listened. The love in that room reached right out of the screen and touched me.

They're still mad about what she said 55 years ago, while they worship a draft-dodging coward who shits on military families and veterans and service personnel every chance he gets.

And I love her. Always have. I was in tears by the time she was done! (And she took her well-deserved time getting there!)

... is really between people who have empathy and those who don't.
