Fiddler on the Roof is on TCM tonight, and it is based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem, whose real name was Solomon Naumovich Rabinovich. Aleichem based Anatevka on the town of Boyarka, which was near his birthplace in Ukraine.

… taking a train to Ukraine, we called the Russians and told them not to think about anything as the train
pulled out, and he showed up 8 AM Wednesday Ukraine time looking sharp too.

AND we have a 3' x 5' Ukrainian flag flying off the front of our house since last week! We're surrounded by MAGAts and I'm looking for a fight at this point. I won't get it though. We're almost all a bunch of old farts on our cul-de-sac. But the fuckers have to look at it every day, which makes me happy.

have relatives in Ukraine, and they had Ribbons on their tree as we did.......Until Trump started his rah rah Russia, and putting down Ukraine, then they took down the ribbons, and despite having relatives in Ukraine...they started backing Trump's Rhetoric and Lies.
