A little economic suffering will take starch out of the Trumpsters.

I feel bad for Nashville, though, if this is going to hurt them at all. I absolutely love the city of Nashville, even though I hate country music. Such a wonderful place. It deserves better than to be located in a red state.

But maybe I'll pick up some jack daniels.

Democrats keep hoping that Trumpsters will wake up and support Democrats instead, but it usually doesn't work that way.

A lot of people suffering because of Trump are going to blame all politicians, or even Democrats. Some of them are going to be turned off to politics for the rest of their lives. Bitter, angry, poor people aren't strong citizens. Some of them are going to die. It's not going to help out democracy.

And, some of the folks we think will suffer from Trump's actions will probably get bailed out. We've hoped farmers would wake up... but Trump is promising them direct payments.

...but overall one would have been hard pressed to find someone still a Nazi in any of the parts of dismembered Germany in 1946.

Perhaps they were ashamed of haven been Nazis, but at least in West Germany a functional and strong democracy rose from the ashes. This was in spite of not having a culture of Democracy as the US does.

You do miss your water when your well runs dry.

Eventually maybe the U.S. will rise from the ashes but I don't think millions of Trump voters are going to wake up this year. As much as I wish they would.
