by having town halls in red states/districts so repubs can voice their disgust. This is a great way to get folks to realize repubs need to be voted out.

Mayes said on Wednesday that the attorneys general could also launch a lawsuit against mass firings this week.
"The federal firings situation is completely out of control, and we're working on it," she said.

(34,015 posts)you or someone else pays for it. Blue districts tend to be small. Red districts tend to be large. Blue districts tend to be so gerrymandered, that they don't have "red areas".

(34,015 posts)The problem we're having: The Democrats are having their own townhalls this weekend.
The next recess is during early voting for our May elections. They want us blue county dems to travel to their townhall (about 100 miles) while we're having a historical mayoral election. They're afraid that enough people won't show up without us there.

(58,401 posts)OR, there are two days in a weekend. So red districts one day, blue the other.

Turnout is already very low in our municipal election and we've got thousands of homes to go to.

(34,015 posts)They might happen here, but my priority is our election. They can have the town hall without us.
We have had mock townhalls in the past and we had similar type events in 2017. The blue town halls in red districts, didn't flip the red seats. It's been done before.
We've also followed red politicians at their own town halls.
It's more important for us to work on things that will make a known impact and that's our election.

(365 posts)farmers have felt the Democrats have left them behind. Why? The Republicans have never had their backs, the Dems have. I do not understand why, especially after the farm crisis of the 80s caused so many bankruptcies, mostly due to Republican policies. Who helped the farmers then. FarmAid was established with a concert by such well known Conservatives (ha ha), Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young and raised over $7 million for farm families. As this concert series continued, Bob Dylan, Billie Joel, Bonnie Rait, Roy Orbison and B. B. King have performed. It sparked a family farm movement that continues to this day.
The farmers have been taking a beating from factory farming for years. Planting seeds for crops has become complicated and expensive. GMO crop seeds have to be purchased yearly as they can be sued for saving seeds for crops the following year. There are multiple laws and rules farmers have to follow, mostly thanks to Monsanto's meddling years ago.
The so called flyover states should be a prime choice to change some national and local voting practices.
