(36,684 posts)It's Wiki page- The Enabling Act of 1933 (German: Ermächtigungsgesetz), officially titled Gesetz zur Behebung der Not von Volk und Reich (lit. 'Law to Remedy the Distress of People and Reich'),[1] was a law that gave the German Cabinet most importantly, the Chancellor the power to make and enforce laws without the involvement of the Reichstag or President Paul von Hindenburg. By allowing the Chancellor to override the checks and balances in the constitution, the Enabling Act marked the beginning of the transition from the democratic Weimar Republic to the totalitarian dictatorship of Nazi Germany..

(3,570 posts)i've been expecting something similar to hussien's purge of his majlis since inauguration day.
Names of people were announced and they were taken outside the hall to be executed. Ba'athist propaganda at the time showed that they were convicted of conspiracy and high treason to the party.

(15,030 posts)But once it's too late and the "Government" really starts coming for friends, co-workers, family, and business partners/trusted support structured - and their guns, a majority will go "wow, why didn't anyone warn us."
Only 20% are probably true believers. The rest are just selfish gits who enjoy the game-day circus of "being on a team" and working the refs for their team, but don't really want to be bothered with anything outside their social bubble.
They avoid putting themselves "out" for people or causes they have no familiarity for - and that's why they're on Team GOP, who just wants members to stay asleep to the world around their bubble.
