Should Senate Dems pass the Republican CR to prevent a government shutdown?

A vote is expected soon (maybe today or tomorrow) in the Senate on the recently passed House CR that would prevent a government shutdown. There are some spending cuts in the CR but there is nothing in it to restrain Musk or Trump from cutting a lot of the funding in the CR. Should Senate Dems pass this to prevent the government from shutting down? Or should they vote against it and bring Repubs to the table for some bargaining despite shutting down the government?

and asking you for some bullets so he can shoot you 5 more times rather than just once.

DOGE is doing a fine job of shutting down the government, especially the parts that we like... and the parts that provide services to states that voted for Kamala.

Why SHOULDN'T we shut it down? We will not be blamed for it. Stop SS checks from going out. Since we aren't going to help Ukraine anyway, stop the military. Shut it all down.

I think there are a lot of people in this country who are gonna understand what we’re doing. They’re scared of the musk Trump regime.

I agree that the shutdown is a worse option but we should have no ownership of that bill. It also has the benefit of pointing out we mean it when we say the filibuster should go.

Voting for the CR bypasses Congress, voting for the CR is the nail in the coffin for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Just fucking quit, President Musk will have a blank check thanks to you.

Well, back to running the numbers for not having SS and Medicare. Glad I got my new knee before Medicare is gone.

All the times the goppers forced the Democrats to make concessions to get a cr passed, the Democrats are suppose to help the reps? No, no. They wanted to run things, let them. Let the people see what idiots they are.
