The CR is a classic dilemma for Senate Democrats.

Both options suck.

I go along with a third option of judicial challenge to the embedded provision of Congress delegating its constitutional duties/obligations to the Executive Branch

Both options suck but for this Dem, it is stand or die. Going along is death, so stand against the CR. Do Opt 3 also. dutch777 Mar 2025 #3

The CR is unconstitutional and Chuck Schumer should have said that.

Article 1, Section 8, Clause 1, -- grants Congress the power to tax and spend money for the general welfare of the United States.

IMHO we have been doing the "live to fight another day" routine for too long and end up further and further from our goals. Even if ultimately the CR passes, the longer we can tie up GOP focus and resources scratching for any little gain, the less time and focus they have to do their next evil thing. Goal is to get a focused Dem message that GOP is not working in the People's interests in the big picture and get to 2026 elections as a champion of the People.

"I'll kill you with your consent" and "I'll kill you without your consent" both result in a dead body (or Constitution in this case).

If you give consent the killer can claim it was a mercy killing.

If you don't give consent than they are just an ordinary killer.
