House Republicans targeting 26 Democrats on initial midterm list

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) rolled out a list of 26 vulnerable House Democrats it plans to target in the 2026 midterms.

The list includes California Reps. Josh Harder, Adam Gray, George Whitesides, Derek Tran and Dave Min, and Florida Reps. Darren Soto and Jared Moskowitz.

It also includes Reps. Frank Mrvan (Ind.), Jared Golden (Maine), Kristen McDonald Rivet (Mich.), Don Davis (N.C.), Chris Pappas (N.H.), Nellie Pou (N.J.) and Gabe Vasquez (N.M.), and Nevada Reps. Dina Titus, Susie Lee and Steven Horsford.

The final names on the list are New York Reps. Tom Suozzi, Laura Gillen and Josh Riley; Ohio Reps. Marcy Kaptur and Emilia Sykes; Texas Reps. Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez; Virginia Rep. Eugene Vindman; and Washington Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez.

We really need to be very wary of POC Republicans. They're a solid and credible threat to seats we'd otherwise claim. nt Hellbound Hellhound Mar 2025 #8

She may get labeled as such just because it helps us any time she’s in the spotlight… but we supposedly targeted her district the last time around too… and she won by a dozen points.

Her old district is on the next level of the list - but her new one is R+13

Of meeting God in the next five minutes than they do of ousting Nellie Pou. That's the late Bill Pascrell's seat. She's not losing unless they cheat and steal like they did last November.

1. He's African-American with dreadlocks.
2. Not just conservative Republican. American First/MAGA.
3. Trump-lover
4. For whatever reason, Republicans in CD-9 keep electing him in primaries despite other candidates.
5. He's bombastic and hates Democrats.
6. Trump did better than expected and Pou did a little worse than expected in November 2024. Republicans are emboldened.
7. Like Scott Garrett in CD-5, Prempeh has been nominated at least three times in the past. It could be that the "strategy" is he'll win on consistent participation every two years.

8. We really need to be very wary of POC Republicans. They're a solid and credible threat to seats we'd otherwise claim. nt
