And they aren't going to succeed in hiding or sugarcoating that anger.
They can try to focus on the Democrats being upset with their own leadership, specifically Schumer, instead of the anger at what is happening, but they are missing the point.
People are upset with Schumer because they are angry about what Trump and Republicans are doing. They are looking for stronger leadership because of what Trump is doing. They want someone to fight Trump harder. The story isn't Schumer as much as it is the anger and disgust at what Trump is doing and we want someone to fight him and stop him. The real story is about the anger and disgust of the public with Trump.
People are fed up with the con and what he is doing being normalized. People are tired of the pushed message that this should be accepted as business as usual. None of this is business as usual. Trump is destroying people's lives, our way of life, our happiness and wellbeing, our relationships with others and our Democracy.
People are angry. They are fed up. That is the story. And the media and pollsters better start focusing on that, because this anger is not going away.

(141,926 posts)but misplaced to focus on Schumer, imo; we must understand why he voted as he did, there was, as I understand it, a decent reason, was to protect from a bad outcome, tho voting the other way was ALSO to protect from a bad outcome.

(2,533 posts)But that anger is all about what the con and his administration is doing. Schumer clearly doesn't understand how angry and fed up people are.
I get why Schumer voted the way he did. He's thinking it from a typical business as usual prospective. But none of this is business as usual and it can't be dealt with in that way. There is no good outcome from treating Trump and his administration as normal. We need to fight them, stop them, stand up to them, knock them down and eventually vote them out. Treating the Trump administration as anything other than the actual danger they are is not acceptable.

Its too late now people who voted for Trump should have realized that last November, along with those who failed to vote at all.

(2,533 posts)But we're here now. Even the people who voted for him or stayed home are beginning to see how awful he is.
I'm not sure it is being fully understood just how angry people are.

Schumer was born on November 23, 1950, which makes him 74 years old.
Best not to antagonise the OBD (orange bellicose dragon), says he, and a lot of Dems agree.
Too many chair warmers in politics, possibly?
And the media, but that goes without saying.
I am 2 years older than he is, but I knew it was time to retire about 10 years ago.
In some jobs you can be seat warmer, and draw your pay, as long as you say nice things and don't rock the boat.
The stunned reaction to Trump's mismanagement and no one seemingly interested in fighting it, is slowly giving way to boiling anger.
I know what happens next . . .
