Found Some Notes I Took From The 2002 Teacher's Convention in Wisconsin
Bob Woodward was the speaker. I didnt have a phone or a camera but I took these notes. Im a teacher thats retiring this year. Im just looking at my handwritten notes and some things I see are:
Woodward opened with a discussion about a Nixon-Frost interview where Nixon said the Washington Post and Woodward were trash. he said the polls were that 90% or more of the people supported Gore, and 90% and higher or anti-war, 90% thought that tax cuts under GW or bad. He said 911 was a pivot point. Talked about the book Bush At War. he said that GW told him to get the hell out of Texas at a gubernatorial convention. Woodward asked Bush 300 questions and interviewed him for 2 1/2 hours for his book Bush At War. He said that bush loathed Kim Jong-Il of North Korea. He asked GW about getting the troops home and Bush said it was a trick question and refused to answer it. He noted three national security threats at the time. One, Osama and Al-Qaeda. Two proof of weapons of mass destruction. Three the rise of China. Buss said he would set up three task forces to address these threats and he didnt do that, as of 2002. Woodward SW a question about bin Laden and he said he should have boiled blood over bin Laden. Then Bush saidOops, thats the guy they warned me about eight or nine months ago. Bob the word also said that the piston of Nixon presidency was hate. Nixon realized the lesson of hate as he left office.
I just thought I would share. I know theyre kind of random and Im just reading what I wrote down in my scratchy writing.
