People who believe that the Republican party is for small government and/or fiscal responsibility are either ignorant of the truth or brainwashed. It is great to try to fracture the cracks that exist in the Republican party, especially now when they control all three branches of government and most state legislatures; however, thinking that these people are likely to become permanent allies of a progressive Democratic party is misguided, in my opinion.
But there certainly are some Republicans who are anti-maga, or at least anti-Trump, and politics certainly does make strange bedfellows.
