Sen. Booker held the floor. Others were allowed to ask questions, but they didn't take the floor. You are saying that Thurmond holds the record for single speaker, but multiple speaker is 60 days.

My understanding is that Sen. Booker had to remain standing, at the dais, without stop. Others could ask him questions.

So I ask again - how is this not breaking the record?

He was a great mayor in Newark New Jersey!

We lived in S Orange for several years. I worked in Newark for a while.

I'm so impressed with how strong his voice still is.

That was the church that sold strawberries and ice cream in June and peaches and ice cream in August and people were lined up around the block

I don't know if they still do it.

I don't recall where my office was located.

I do recall how much I loved the architecture, despite how run down some of it was. I love historic cities, spent a lot of years in Boston.

He is doing an amazing oratory on the perils we are facing with a convicted felon in our house.

Is that many people will argue that this accomplished nothing. I heartily disagree. The symbolism is critically important, especially leading up to Saturday. It is energizing and inspiring.
It's also important for the record. Every word he speaks becomes part of recorded history.
Let's hope this moment isn't wasted.

The longest shift I ever worked was 22 hours with one meal break in the middle. It took me three days to recover. And I was in my late 30's and healthy. Corey's 55 and pulled this off quite nicely. We need more of this. Thank you, Senator Booker.
