Perhaps the worst year since 1934 to reach this milestone. Retirement savings tanking, social security and Medicare threatened. And now tariffs that will basically amount to a 10% pay cut.
Gonna need a lot of wine.

I hope you have a good day and a happy birthday.

(29,422 posts)Due to the fact that it could end at the drop of a hat, she decided to apply for SS before full retirement age. Weve been waiting two months now for verification of her income over the years. I cant wait to see what happens after she applies for Medicare later this year.

(4,131 posts)neither is your SS. All checks have been on time. I'm worried about my 401k like you. Let's hope at some point it balances out profitable.

(4,131 posts)or not, he's looking for fraud. That's what my lawyer told me. As long as you didn't lie to SS you'll be fine. I guess we'll just wait and see.

(21,437 posts)I have my own opinion based on my observations.
If Musk is looking for fraud, why are they closing SS field offices?
If Musk is looking for fraud, why are they firing SS staff?
If Musk is looking for fraud, why is he looking at re-writing millions of lines of code from a perfectly working COBOL based program for SS?
What they are doing is trying to kill, or at least cripple Social Security by making it unusable without doing a lot of work and suffering a lot of inconvenience.

(4,131 posts)time and sometimes a few days before my third Wednesday. I'm not going to spend my remaining days, hopefully years, worrying about things that haven't happened. The other side is not going to remove SS. They would never win an election again. most of their supporters are on SS. There's lots to worry about, but SS isn't one of them
