Rubio dismisses speculation US could leave NATO as 'hysteria'

Was the dude asleep for the last 3 months?

Fears that Washington might ditch the Western military alliance are "unwarranted," US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said ahead of Thursday's talks with NATO counterparts.

Rubio, speaking at NATO headquarters, put on a brave face to calm European anxieties that the US might scale back its commitment or even consider leaving the alliance.

"Some of this hysteria and hyperbole that I see in the global media and some domestic media in the US about NATO is unwarranted – US President Trump has made clear he supports NATO," Rubio told reporters.

NATO might disregard our barely tolerated presence, and let us know what they are up to on a "need to know" basis, since Trump and Gabbard will just pass on any sensitive info to Putin anyway.

serious statesman. Now as Secretary of State, completely in Trump's thrall, the Real Rubio is being revealed. The man isn't merely a gutless, lying weasel, obediently going along with, and defending all of Trump's unconstitutional violence, it's clear he's also totally out of his depth as the nation's top diplomat.
