or something? The NYT has a serious obligation to provide fact based news especially during times like these. They are failing in many (not all) cases.

An example, by normalizing this insane man they allow many to view what he's doing as normal.

It's the epitome of "this is all normal, nothing to see here."

I suppose one could write an article with no factual errors about the Covid pandemic that did not assign blame to anyone or call out any lies. Often what is omitted is the real culprit and by doing that, you do not give the reader a clear picture of the truth.

The accuracy or lack thereof is not the point I'm trying to make. What matters is the headline. Many people only look at the headlines and inform themselves from that perspective.

I remember having to get them approved by the editor when I wrote for my college paper. They are supposed to summarize the most important parts of the article. Because of that, it would be journalistic malpractice to write a headline like that to summarize an article that was critical of the policy.

They read headlines only. Some may read a paragraph or two but most don’t read the whole article.

Trump does have a great appetite for risk- when he's risking other people's money and livelihoods.

And he's never faced any consequences for risking anything of his own. Of course the last thing he cares about is the well being of his fellow citizens. These tariffs are extremely dangerous and the NYT is obligated to inform its readers of that. It is not an opinion.

That was a ridiculous headline and gross AF.
