While speaking during a panel discussion hosted by the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith was asked a question on President Donald Trumps claim that the United States must eliminate the trade deficit with Canada, given the majority of that deficit is in oil and gas.
Its a little bit cheeky, but I have told the secretary I could always sell 2 million barrels of oil to someone else other than the United States, if they would like us to, because thats essentially the trade deficit.

(131,101 posts)Trump to hold off of tariffs on Canada until after the election because Pierre Poilievre, Conservative leader, is more 'in sync' with Trump. She wants to grow the Alberta separatist movement and wrote a letter to Quebec trying to rekindle the separatist movement amongst Quebec politicians the other day so Conservatives could win an election. She's corrupt and 'friends' of her team, she's the Premier of Alberta, get government contracts with no experience and bought substandard hospital gowns that have cost $5 Million to store before they will be one day thrown out. She smiles a big smile while she shivs her enemies and the majority of Albertans (who don't want to be a separate country, and would like countertariffs on oil and gas to save Canada). At least Pierre Poilievre has the decency to look unhappy when he attacks. She's as MAGA as they get. She's putting Albertans at risk of losing their healthcare as I would give Alberta no more than two years as an independent nation before the US gobbles it up and replaces decent public healthcare with private.
