Comedian Russell Brand charged with rape

Good.

Russell Brand has been charged with rape, indecent assault and sexual assault between 1999 and 2005.

The charges relate to four separate women.

The comedian and actor has been interviewed multiple times by police since an investigation by the Sunday Times, the Times and Channel 4's Dispatches in September 2023 revealed multiple serious allegations against him.

He’s now studying for an MA in religion in global politics at SOAS University of London.

In 2017, Brand enrolled in a Master’s programme – religion in global politics – at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies. “I was not as famous as I had been, but pretty famous,” he says. “And I was 20 years older than everybody.” He did his best to hang with the kids and says his presentations were solid – “I was able to bust out some performance skills” – but the written assignments killed him. “I didn’t finish the course."
