My heart breaks to think of where we'd be now with President Harris.

It would be very much like 2009, the thrill we had when President Obama took office.

Really, the psychological pain has almost left me paralyzed.

with propaganda continually coming from the new media, particularly Fox Noise and from the Magats still in elected office.

Don't get me wrong. She would have done a lot but like Biden, she would not have received credit for it.

I enjoyed having a literate, highly educated, thoughtful leader, a great man, a true representative of the best of America.

Now we have the worst. A rich corrupt ignorant Queens, NY hillbilly.

America's world leadership, the stock market and our savings. So would education, health care--including Medicare and Medicaid--Social Security, unions, LGBTQ+ rights, women's rights, DEI. We wouldn't be losing many top scientists and other intellectual leaders. Immigrants would be safe. Protesters wouldn't be swept off the streets in KGB-style kidnappings, and there would be no illegal deportations. An idiot like RFK Jr. wouldn't be fanning the flames of measles outbreaks and other insane health issues. We wouldn't have a FOX News host as secretary of defense and using Signal to share military attack plans with journalists. We wouldn't be cozying up to Russia and Putin and mockiing the courage of Zelensky and Ukraine.

My gawd . . . the whole world would be an infinitely better place with Harris/Walz. And every time I think of that I become physically ill. The MAGA cult has stolen my country by choosing Evil over Good. It's that simple. As Cory Booker has said, it's never been about the right or the left, it's always been about right and wrong. Given that simple choice, US voters chose Wrong, and all of us decent human beings are suffering as a result.

I will NEVER forgive any of them. NEVER.

Also add in millions and millions of student loan borrowers wouldn't have had their monthly payments increased while having their chances of their loans being forgiven significantly lessened or outright eliminated.

Fuck a divided country. It has been for decades and will continue to be regardless of who is president. Give me a competent and functioning government that implements policies that benefit the vast majority of us over yet another federal clusterfuck of an administration brought to you by the Russian puppet.

PS - our country is still divided -- it's just also completely fucked up now, too.

I'm trying to get un-crushed, going to one of the Hands Off protests tomorrow so I can feel like I'm doing something. I participated in protests more than 50 years ago, didn't think I'd still have to do it now that I'm old.

They didn't want a humble public servant who worked for the people.

They wanted excitement, drama, entertainment.
Someone who was just like them and hated anyone who is not a white Christian male.
Who would exact revenge and humiliation on the libs.

You are right to use past tense. I don’t think historians are mystified. It happened in Germany, too.
The market system failed to offer real solutions, and the political system was weak and corrupt, giving way to an evil despot leading a cult bound by ignorance and emotion.

I wonder if those who were promoting and encouraging the uncommitted movement will be primaried and voted out of office along with the MAGA and GOP fuckwads. Those blowhards and loudmouths were all over the place before the election... shitting on Democrats, the party, and our nominee... but now? Where are they?

It would look nothing like the place we are currently.

Once again, too many people missed their chance to make this nation a better place. That allowed another large group of people to elect a man who is making it a worse place. Much worse.

Will we ever learn? Although I hope we will, I am no longer confident that we will.
