Trump said he never wanted to be like Herbert Hoover...

He was another Republican that they believed was smarter than everyone else. He was Commerce Secretary and knowledgeable about issues of trade, etc.

But he approved the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act, but it only worsened the Depression. This was after the stock market crash of 1929.

During the midst of the Great Depression, people would turn their pants pockets inside-out and called them "Hoover flags". Are the "Trump flags" doomed to the same mockery?

Is Trump on the same trajectory as Herbert Hoover?

After Hoover, the Republicans lost power for almost 60 years.
