5. IF trump doesn't put a stop to the mid-terms

As he has boasted about doing many times over the years

Could he actually do that?

Am I just wearing a tinfoil hat?

Hard to tell what's real or un-real these days.

He will try, assuming we aren't already in open rebellion before then. Which if he does we will most certainly be then.

9. That's not how cults work

It would be comforting if that were true, but this is a deeply entrenched cult, not a political party. Trump is a pathological lying convicted criminal with a legion of mental problems, six bankruptcies, two impeachments, the inability to speak beyond a 4th grade level, the theft of thousands of top secret documents, incitement of the Jan. 6 insurrection, the childish mockery of opponents--including a reporter with a disability--sexual misconduct, threatening to hang his own VP and suggesting Liz Cheney and Gen. Miley face a firing squad for coming out against him. Never has there ever been anything like this human scum, and STILL a majority of voters put him in the White House AGAIN.

It's right vs wrong, good vs. evil, and since Trump entered the scene, wrong and evil have been winning, except for the Biden interlude.

Every time I write down even the partial list of Trump's vast number of deep character flaws, criminal conduct, and mental illnesses, I am left breathless at the realization that this entity is living in the White House as the tyrant he always dreamed of being. It's disgusting and reprehensible to any decent human being which, sadly, does not include the MAGAts.

So are tariffs going to make any difference when NONE of this looooooong list of despicable facts has? Can this democracy survive in some recognizable form until the midterms? Will enough people stand up to tyranny and take it down? Given recent history, I see little evidence that any of this could happen. I have almost given up hope. What a helluva mess, none of which was necessary.

11. Not everyone who voted him is actually in the cult though.

That’s the problem with your analysis. It’s black and white.

I know quite a few normies that voted for him and are just extremely low information voters. They're not going to fall on a sword for him but they barely pay attention to current events and if they do its a very pedestrian view of things.

17. Does mocking a disabled reporter impact on a MAGA? No, and no to all you list. Do Trump tariffs that devastate 401ks,,

take away jobs, delay retirements, and increase prices? What is happening is on a totally different scale. We are talking about an economic earthquake that will hit nearly all Americans, including MAGAs.

I generally ignore the defeatists here who believe Trump is invulnerable and has started a movement that will last thousands of years. It’s good comedy though, however unintended.

A year and a half is so long to wait. Not to mention the 2028 race. We have to endure him and his ilk for a long time.

14. Right now, true. But come the mid-terms, Fox News will be telling Americans how much worse things
Fri Apr 4, 2025, 06:03 PM

would have been had Bidenomics, which made the American economy the envy of the world, would have been twice as bad as Trump shooting the economy in the foot. You wait. Republicans will double-down on tariffs as a good thing, Fox News will repeat it, and just enough stupid people will once again buy into it that they control losses or even pick up seats.

It's the stupid people who are steering where America heads. Very scary times!
