(5,611 posts)Busy street traffic and I would estimate the thumbs-up, happy waves and 'thank yous' from people driving by outnumbered the bird fingers about 60 to 1! There were the 3 usual local suspects driving angry back in forth for 2 hours, flipping us off. So sad, no friends, afraid to go home to empty houses.
Damn, my faith in people is restored. My neighbors are good people, people who care, veterans, old women, young men (some of them also veterans) young women, even some Dogs Against Doge.

(13,621 posts)It’s a red area of the county and we won’t have hundreds, but I think there will be more than the usual 10 to 15. We are pretty excited and have already talked about what we will wear and who is to pick up whom, And of course, where we will eat and have a cocktail after.

(24,682 posts)Plus, the terrible thunderstorms we've been having will continue through Sunday. Kentucky is in a state of emergency.
BUT--Our Dem group here locally did a protest last Sat. in front of the county courthouse. Probably had close to 40 people there, which was huge for us.
Good trouble tomorrow, friends and neighbors!!

(9,050 posts)You can grab a friend or two and hold up signs on any busy-ish street corner. It's very effective for people to see protests in unexpected places.
