They want people to get sick and die so that people don’t have the strength to push back and to remove the drain on privatized/privatizing resources.

It’s a brand, just like Christianity is to them.

They’re actually for controlling women, quid-pro-quo relationships with corporate donors, and, letting people who can’t contribute to the billionaire class’s wealth die. They just can’t say these things out loud because it sounds ghoulish and evil.

Going back at least 40 years, this has been the nature of the Republican party: talk the pro-life game, oppose anything which actually prolongs or saves lives. A better question is why does it sell?
