This kind of broad disapproval is harder to reverse than if there were simply one issue harming his presidency, on which he could presumably change course. Theres no obvious silver bullet for Trump to reach for in order to restore his public standing.

(6,192 posts)About a third of the population are frothing at mouth deplorables who will support Trump no matter what, even if they have to live under a bridge.
But Trump's poll numbers don't matter. He can't and won't be held accountable. He will inflict so much damage by mid-terms that the only way we will be able to turn things around would be to have enough Senators to be able to convict and remove him after a House impeachment.
I don't see that happening. At least not right now.

Bad polls don't matter to a King or dictator.
