How Low Can Trump’s Approval Go?
April 28, 2025 at 9:51 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

William Kristol: “The numbers are pretty striking. And what’s also striking is that support for Trump’s performance on a wide range of issues has declined across the board. Obviously, he’s stronger on some issues than others—but on all of them, he’s trending down.”

“This kind of broad disapproval is harder to reverse than if there were simply one issue harming his presidency, on which he could presumably change course. There’s no obvious silver bullet for Trump to reach for in order to restore his public standing.”

About a third of the population are frothing at mouth deplorables who will support Trump no matter what, even if they have to live under a bridge.

But Trump's poll numbers don't matter. He can't and won't be held accountable. He will inflict so much damage by mid-terms that the only way we will be able to turn things around would be to have enough Senators to be able to convict and remove him after a House impeachment.

I don't see that happening. At least not right now.

If all of them resigned. Granted, we’d be stuck with Moses Mike but I doubt he would be as corrupt

He's got power and he'll use it to destroy. Those polling orgs had better watch out.

9. I think he cares a lot. He's a narcissist. He craves approval. Look at his behavior when opponents criticize him.

as a narc but in the end he wants his tariffs. He wants his way more than popularity or we'd see him changing course.

will plunge. He left office in 2021 with 34 percent average approval. I believe he will match that or even lower.

I'm also praying it matters. My fear is a collapse of all of our checks, balances, and guardrails.

Bad polls don't matter to a King or dictator.

That's how many Americans are still in the cult. Once it breaks 35%, we'll know that the MAGA Cult is finally waking up.

Only R in congress/senate can do that. We know his cabinet never will. His approval should be in the minus range imo.
