My skepticism is probably influenced by fact I live where 70+% voted for trump.

The traffic is 98% cars. But some concrete trucks came through and blew their horns for us. We were like a bunch of kids when those trucks honked. I know that i was just delighted. I don't know if this is doing any good but it sure feels good to be in a whole crowd of kind open minded people who aren't afraid to cuss.

In rapist's first term farm bankruptcies and suicides skyrocketed. He ate away at women's reproductive rights. Hundreds of thousands died of COVID in 2020. Yet here we are.

What's happening will likely work against him in the midterm elections like in 2018, but if a rapist v.2 emerges in 2028, they still have a chance. The hold the republican party has on cultural white voters is tight as a drum.

That is markedly not the case among the truckers I am personally familiar with. The hold AM radio has given the right over them is holding strong even in the face of a pretty ugly reality.

If freight collapses soon as some predict, that may make a dent, but until it hits them personally and hard, I'm pretty skeptical. And even then i'd be surprised if we saw wholesale change in support among that demographic, rather than just some denting here and there.

I was hoping for some feedback from truckers or people who know truckers. We were surprised by the reaction we were getting.
