HAPPENING NOW: Second Circuit panel hears arguments on the govt's emergency request to stop Tufts PhD student transfer

HAPPENING NOW: A Second Circuit motions panel hears arguments on the govt's emergency request to stop Tufts PhD student Rümeysa Öztürk from being physically moved from Louisiana to Vermont while the govt appeals the VT fed court's jurisdiction. (It isn't clear this order should even be appealable.)

The Second Circuit motions panel will also consider whether to consolidate the cases of Rümeysa Öztürk and Columbia student Mohsen Mahdawi for the purposes of the govt's appeals. Both students' legal teams oppose this.

Today’s motions panel consists of Judges Alison Nathan (Biden), Susan Carney (Obama), and Barrington Parker (GW Bush).
