Cabela years ago made a derogatory statement about OBAMA in print.......I wrote the management a note that they should check my record of purchases from their company, every year.... thousands of dollars in purchases. And they could not expect that I will ever buy from them again, but will go to Dick's sporting goods instead, or order on line from the manufacturer due to their politics.

Same with the Catalog business U-line..............

Many years ago (like the late 1970's) my mother took a sales job after divorcing my dad. She worked hard and won the company's Rookie of the Year award. At the award conference, the announcer asked before hand if he should announce her as a "saleswoman". They had never had a woman win apparently. She said "hell no". She competed against all of these men and beat all of them and therefore she was a "salesman".

I was never much of a poster at places like this. I guess I still don’t post much. We had our thing working. And now I have other things.

I have gone into shops, seen trump signs on the wall and turned around and left. When I had my own shop I never wore anything or displayed anything political. Likewise I always told my customers "Have a great holiday" unless I knew them well enough to know where they worshipped. Then I would say the appropriate holiday.

If someone wanted to see my bumper stickers, that was another matter. They would have to follow me to my car, though.

Only had two occasions when it lost us a client, and as they were 'nickel and dimers' who were slow pay, we didn't care.

Many of our clients were not local.
Had we been doing retail or food service, our position would have been the same ( plywood would have gone over the windows though).

I don't mind doing business with those I disagree with politically but as a practical matter I don't trust people who think lying's okay. That's what's special about that crowd -- they embrace obvious, overt, in-your-face dishonesty, so they are more likely to be dishonest themselves. And that's bad for business.

Like, "We're honest and hardworking, won't try to sell you stuff you don't need, and have conservative values" -- said in a way that actually makes it SOUND like it's code for something. And I'm like: "What are you talking about? You're an HVAC company."

They look t your age, race, and even how you dress when you get out of the car and send the salesperson who suits you best out to greet you.
A young lady may get a father figure while an older man could get a conservative while a minority will get the "brother".
A young white man could see a younger person and couples may get a woman or a handsome gentleman because they know the wife has final say.

Other dealerships may only have Herb Tarlock with a white belt and leisure suit.

There are other dealerships with good deals too. I don't do business with trumpers period.

Asked to meet the GM and then tell him /her that I would expect a dealership to NOT allow any politics to be displayed by their sales staff. That it is very unprofessional and then I would turn around and walk out. There are way too many other dealerships and car choices to choose from.
