Trump is actually lucky that the new Pope stole all the attention

this morning. I honestly believe that even FAUX would have had to admit that his whole "tariff deal" announcement was huge nothing burger. As it was, the chyrons said things like "details still need to be worked out". It was concept of a deal maybe, to be generous. And I think if it wasn't for the Pope he would be the subject of scorn and ridicule. He probably still will be when the hoop-la wears off.

What he does is screwing somebody over. And he calls it a deal. He’s never made an authentic deal in his life.

That's not what Cabinet member do, you hamhock!

But "deals" is all he knows how to talk about, however ridiculously incompetent he is at actually doing them.

of a homophobic and sexist institution that was a driving force of colonialism, forced conversion and anti-choice sentiment. who (shock!) chose a white American to lead it.

It illustrates how far we still have to go to transcend superstition and ritual.

Hopefully it will pass and we can focus our ire once again once again on Trump.

Case in point: 23 Pope threads on the main GD page at this moment.

Oh well, I think most of that is relief that a super conservative Pope was not selected. This too shall pass.
