I got to meet him at the stage door afterwards (along with Richard Thomas, who had played the lead). He looked mostly dead even then. He definitely didn't look healthy.

Sorry to hear this. He delivered my all-time favorite line in "Cheers".

Damn. George Wendt will be missed. And his signature character just as much if not more.

Great actor in his role of Norm, his fellow actors were spot on, and the writing was
top notch too. Everybody who is born will die because that is the way it is but
this one hurts.

Da Bears will miss you, and so will the rest of us.
