(4,541 posts)I was trying to summarize what Brendan Boyle and Lawrence were saying...but was struggling, because it is above my pay grade. They explained there is a link from extensive Medicaid cuts which leads to Medicare cuts as well...and something called Pay Go is involved.
I expect some sophisticated print media will try and explain it to us.

Thats an old budget trick to balance budget on paper. Have seen it used often in states and federal level. With feds especially, you dont know whether one achieved their budget goals until years after fact.

(17,400 posts)in 2023, $843 billion was the TOTAL budget. If they cut $500 billion, theres only $343 billion left. Is that correct?

(278 posts)In many countries there would have been a revolution in response for half of the s*** that they've been doing. Yet, not here. Cro-Maga hominoids will swear up and down it's all about cutting "waste and fraud" because that's what they heard on Murdoch's propaganda machine and from the Turd himself on Ex.

(4,044 posts)since the Rs really named it that, it's hard to avoid.
I'm calling it "the so-called Big Beautiful Bill which should really be called the Big BS Bill." I left 3 voicemails each on my Congresscritter and senators' phone lines this morning. There's too much BS in the bill to cover it all in the time it takes for their recording. Even with three messages each, there's a lot I didn't get to say. Nick @ 5 Calls had a longer list in this month's newsletter.

Thanks, you fucking Republican scumbags.
