(20,445 posts)No conspiracy needed. It's just two of the biggest egos in the country in a room that isn't big enough for both. Neither of them has any real loyalty to anything other than themselves. Makes total sense.

(4,810 posts)Trump has had lots of nasty fallouts with friends before. Why would you say this is different?
Most of us predicted this from the beginning - two big egos not able to work with each other.

(3,252 posts)to do with the new travel bans and calling Biden a robot. This feud calls attention directly to the budget bill, and Musk has threatened republican congressional members with bankrolling primary challengers. Trump and republican leaders have been hiding from the press over the weekend, and after the drop in Teslas stock today I wouldnt be surprised if Musk is fired by the Tesla board. I dont see how this feud benefits either one of them.

(8,755 posts)As though Edolph is purposely positioning himself for something and Crumb The 1st is in on the deal and playing along. Edolph saying Crumb The 1st is in the Epstein files is repeating what everybody has been saying for some years now. Even if Edolph had a copy and released it all that Crumb The 1st would have to do is call it a "fake" list and that he has the "real" list. That's just one example of how this doesn't strike me as being on the level between the two.
Wealthy people fight with money. They spend money to hurt the money of the one they're fighting with. I don't see that because any threat to Edolph's contracts will be shot down by the courts and Edolph knows it as well as Crumb The 1st since the courts have already been stepping in for others. So until they actually bring out the money "knives" and truly slash each other and not just make dubious threats I'm not buying the face value explanation being given about this.

But, isn't the jobs report due soon? It's gonna look bad for both bozos so distraction mode might have become operational.

(9,305 posts)Elon says Trump was on Epstein Island. So? Everybody knows THAT. Yes, we (i.e. the Public) know about the sex stuff. At the end of the day, IT DIDN'T, DOESN'T nor WILL IT matter.
Has he shut down Trump's Twitter account yet? That would be a "shoot" punch.
Is he trying to negotiate an immunity deal with law enforcement in swing states to prove how his techs helped rigged the election? That would be a "shoot" punch.
(BTW, I'm using pro wrestling jargon because, if Trump were to ever show up on Monday Night RAW, he would probably be introduced as "WWE Hall of Famer and President of the United States Donald J. Trump"
Is Trump shutting down DOGE? "Shoot" punch.
In fact, to my point of the whole "Reality TV" ballyhoo and weaponized distraction, this is what's NOT dominating any of the news cycles.
WASHINGTON (AP) The Supreme Court handed the Trump administration two victories Friday in cases involving the Department of Government Efficiency, including giving it access to Social Security systems containing personal data on millions of Americans.
The justices also separately reined in orders seeking transparency at DOGE, the team once led by billionaire Elon Musk.
The court's conservative majority sided with the Trump administration in the first Supreme Court appeals involving DOGE. The three liberal justices dissented in both cases.
The DOGE victories come amid a messy breakup between the president and the world's richest man that started shortly after Musks departure from the White House and has included threats to cut government contracts and a call for the president to be impeached. The future of DOGEs work isn't clear without Musk at the helm, but both men have previously said that it will continue its efforts.

Don't get me wrong, MountainGuy, I'm sure these divas are genuinely miffed at each other, but I don't think their joint-venture diabolicalness is gonna be tweaked in any manner... or at least in a way that will BENEFIT us.
I'm just an old man drenched in cynicism, I guess...

(9,305 posts)Story by Joey Garrison, USA TODAY 20h 6 min read
WASHINGTON Perhaps a reconciliation was just as inevitable as the breakup that so many predicted.
Elon Musk, the billionaire tech entrepreneur and former top White House DOGE adviser, has gradually taken steps to restore his tattered relationship with President Donald Trump and surrender, just days after their alliance blew up in a spectacular war of words marked by personal insults and threats.
The early returns have Trump ‒ no stranger to scorched-earth fights ‒ coming out on top in the battle between the world's richest man and the world's most powerful man. Both own major social media platforms, but it doesn't hurt that the president is the one with the sway of the White House.

(7,650 posts)Musk, the Broligarchy, and the Russian axis used trump to get firmly implanted in the middle of America's government.
- Suck up all the data and disperse widely
- Censor data that doesn't support their motives
- Set up the control mechanisms - ICE mercenary army, surveillance, concentration camps
- Undermine opposition voices in coming elections through election manipulation, and splitting the vote on a 3rd party candidate.
Trump doesn't give a shit now about being president. He is too busy stuffing himself at the trough. However, he would like a Nobel peace prize, by "negotiating peace" in Israel and Ukraine after they are conquered by others. The Axis are happy to oblige him because they share the same goals of conquest.
Musk is more evil than Trump. Willing to mass murder the poor. But he's also vulnerable to manipulation by the Axis of Evil and the Broligarchy. They will spit him out if/when his usefulness is over.
JMHO, of course....

(34,407 posts)and Donald 'acted' in so many movies and tv shows prior to this latest gig. The current production tends to consistently fall short in the believability factor, but from some he still gets rave reviews! Guess that's show-biz
