Dubai: Explosions have rung out across Iran’s capital on Friday morning, amid claims from Israel that it is attacking the country.

People in Tehran awoke to the sound of a blast, which state television acknowledged.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz announced a “special situation” in Israel after the attack, which Axios reported was carried out by the Israeli Air Force. He said schools would be closed in the country on Friday.

There was no immediate word on what was struck.

Katz said Israelis should expect a missile and drone attack against Israel in the immediate future, according to Axios.
