So he definitely piqued my interest

I heard Gavin Newsom say this live yesterday, and it left me with more questions than answers. Then I saw that Aaron Rupar helpfully transcribed his comments on bluesky so here they are in case you missed them:

Newsom: "He's been a stone cold liar about what he said we talked about. He never discussed the National Guard. Period. Full stop. I would love to share with you what he actually talked about. It would send shivers up your spine."

My memory is that Newsom was saying this in front of the press. Did they ask him what he meant or to elaborate? I will say also that my impression at the time was that Newsom was throwing this out as a warning. Kind of like, don't make me tell everyone what you said, donnie.

The whole thing is puzzling, and I don't think we've heard the end of it.

Just my opinion, he just doesn’t want to be the conduit to convey Trump’s message of violent threats and keep escalating the situation

interesting, and I think somewhere he alluded to being in possession of the conversation? Like he could play it if anyone wanted to hear it. Weird, but quite normal these days.

there would be something in place to make Donald's conversations unrecordable to anyone but Donald. My tech knowledge is nil but my imagination takes me places.

RE: Trump
He must work under the constraints as a constitutional officer of the constitution of the United States of America, that’s what this court order demands of a President of the United States. He is not a monarch, he is not a king and he should stop acting like one. I spoke to him on Friday night. He had a mysterious conversation with me three days later. You can’t even make this stuff up. I would love to share the readout but I revere the office of the Presidency, so I will keep it in confidence. He has quite literally made up components of that conversation, he has been a stone cold liar about what he said we talked about. He never discussed the National Guard, period, full stop.
I would love to share with you what he talked about. It would give shivers up your [fuh…] spine. Of course not, absolutely not (responding to a question). We went back and forth with Susie Wiles, Chief of Staff and then called the Mayor of Los Angeles, so I missed a call from the President, called him back …..actually texted him back, you want full disclosure.... and he called me right back. We discussed for a nano second, Los Angeles and he immediately zigged and zagged into seven or eight other topics. Some extraordinarily familiar and some extraordinary remarkable considering the world we are living in.
