Just returned from the No King's protest in Brazos County, TX

I was astounded at the turnout! This is a super red county, but we lined both sides of the street for several blocks. Perhaps even more encouraging were the overwhelmingly positive responses we got from the traffic, which was amazingly heavy for a downtown Saturday morning. I am more hopeful than I've been in a long, long time. Of course, it was completely peaceful, with several good citizens providing water, lemonade and even snacks and chairs for those who needed them. The crowd consisted of folks of all adult age groups--I saw no children. I didn't see any camera crews, but noted a couple of drones that surely must have been photographing the crowd size. I can hardly wait to see what the local news has to say about the event! We have a lot of good warriors on our side--I even met with one woman who is a Libertarian. Like she said, when you've lost the Libertarians, you don't stand a chance.

Peace and courage everyone! The momentum is on the side of DEMOCRACY!!!!

I am honestly impressed with the positive report. Brazos Co. is where College Station is situated---home of Texas A&M, one of the more conservative universities in the country. Brazos Co. has been a rightwing locale for quite a while; the last Democratic president to carry the county was LBJ, back in 1964.

Thanks for the news, Trueblue Texan.

Which was well attended. At least 400 to 450. We had MAGA cars circling the block, but there were only about 10 of them.

Please let us know if your local news covers the event. We all know M$M will not cover the protests.

Both for protesting AND for reporting. Your insight gives me some hope at a time when hope is very much needed for this Texan!

harris/fortbend/brazoria/galveston counties? I'm wondering if they got rained out (had to work today, so wasn't able to attend one).
