Also in Boston on Saturday afternoon, demonstrators joined other cities across the country for the No Kings protests.
The No Kings rally is a movement targeted at the Trump administration, and specifically President Donald Trump. Protesters said Trump is bypassing Congress with too many executive orders and is creating a government that is no longer by and for the people.
I hope they can see that there are a number of us upset with how Trump is handling this country, and there is no normal anymore," said one protester.

(95,568 posts)I could have gone with a friend from Boston but I just don't trust my 17 year old car on the highway anymore.
Last one I went in for was the woman's march.
Thanks for the heads up about the overhead shot! I will check it out.

(53,792 posts)but we're a lot bigger place now, and no John Adams. I'll bet his extensive writings would have some insight as to the present predicament.

(95,568 posts)Raining and pretty cold for mid june. Pretty good turnout for a small town. One woman said that it was great to be around like minded people.
Lot's of thumbs up and honking in support and of course a few assholes flipping us off.
Glad you had a good turnout in Kauai, Cha.
Power to the people...right on!

They give us no credit because they don't see us. Little do they know we are the phoenix.

The phoenix is a mythical golden bird associated with renewal and regeneration. Rising from the ashes of its previous life, the phoenix is a symbol of hope, of life and of better things to come, born from the knowledge and experience of difficult times and challenging circumstances.

(114,363 posts)The population of Boston is just under 700,000. When I left, the population of Boston, suburbs, and a few exurbs was about 5 million.
A number like this one is really impressive from a population that size.
I remember 100k000 on Boston Common in 1969. It was packed. I can't imagine ten times that.
