ICE agents confirmed to attend Miami’s Club World Cup matches as ticket sales and prices plummet

ICE declared that all non-American citizens need to bring proof of their legal status to the games

THE Club World Cup is off to a dreadful start with ticket prices plummeting for the early games.

Tickets for the opening game in Miami started at around $350 but fell as low as $20 ahead of game time.

The announcement that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents would be present at the games in Miami appears to have been a primary driver of the price drop.

A bunch of people who don't "look" American (the MAGA version) will also be questioned/detained/hassled. MAGATs are why we can't have nice things.

FYI, for those who don't follow soccer.

Club teams (i.e., Miami) don't play in the World Cup. National teams (i.e., Italy, Germany, Argentina) do. Tickets for the World Cup are not on sale yet, much less discounted.

The headline here is deceptive because it doesn't distinguish between the actual World Cup - the most important and watched sports tournament in the world, scheduled for next summer in the US, Canada, and Mexico - and the Club World Cup, a tournament in its first run going on right now that nobody really cares about that much.
