I think she should become the "girl in the bubble" for her own sake.

But it could be legit. If she has some sort of food allergy, they may have taken her out of an abundance of caution.

PREDISPOSE her for any number of things. Rotting from within, as they say (and I've seen the end result in my ER day in and day out).

But, yes, some poor wasp or bee may have stung her, or any number of things could have caused a reaction.

More recently, a shellfish-allergic friend made us bypass having a nightcap in the separate bar area of a seafood restaurant -- no food, just drinks -- out of fear that they weren't diligent enough about keeping their dishes and glasses clean!
