Authorities suspected a neo-Nazi white supremacist group called the Order was behind the murder. The group, which believed in killing all Jews and sending all black people to Africa, was also linked to several armored car robberies that it used to fund its terrorist activities. /2

There was an antisemitic element to Bergâs murder: Those involved in the killing were part of a group planning to kill prominent Jews such as Berg. The groupâs leader, Bruce Pierce, was arrested in Georgia almost a year later. His van contained machine guns and other weapons. /3

Pierceâs accomplices, David Lane and Richard Scutari, were arrested shortly thereafter. Pierce was found guilty of shooting Berg and Lane for driving the getaway car. They were sentenced to 252 years and 190 years in prison, respectively. Bergâs story inspired the 1988 film Talk Radio. /end

He nailed the importance of Free Speech. Also - Eric Begosian is so super under rated - and does an excellent job with the Berg based character.

I really enjoyed listening to Alan Berg.
